NOTE - Updated deadline: Register by November 10, 2003 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Informed citizenry is key to resolving the complex watershed problems in every state. While we have effective means to conserve water and the ability to implement effective watershed restoration programs, before we as citizens can make wise decisions about "water rights,' 'water permits," "interbasin transfers' and the myriad problems facing us and our elected officials, we must understand how the hydrologic system functions. And we must make sure that those whom we elect to represent us also understand the issues at hand and act on our wishes. Now all we need is your help in attending this workshop to learn how to save our water supply. Education is the key to success in any program. The FLOW~ Program consists of two components:

Our new GCG Calendar for '04 is outstanding! Every member is urged to purchase a calendar. The proceeds fund our scholarship program. The calendars are $7.00 each. Consider your $7.00 an investment in Georgia'sfuture. Our scholarship recipients are inspiring and deserving of our financial support. The Garden Club of Georgia 2004 calendar, PATHWAYS, "Georgia's Pride' is hot off the press. It has a whole new 'look" designed to showcase designers' talents, serve as an educational tool and Upeal to the general public. Place your order ASAP. We only ordered 6500 this year and with 1000 of those going to retail stores, the calendars will be in limited supply. All garden club presidents should have already received order forms in the mail. Send your order promptly to district calendar chairman, Sandra Dye (address above) so that calendars may be picked up at the Fall District meeting, October 30, 2003, thereby saving postage.

This editor would like to invite you to send news of your events and activities
directly to her at the above address, which is also on page one of every issue
of the publication. We encourage your clubs also to send by "snailmail" a
picture of your event for which you would like publicity. It is Staff policy
not to accept photos with any email (digital images) because, frequently, the
quality of the photo does not transmit clear enough for reproduction in
the publication.
